Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American performer and actress with Irish origin. The green-eyed beauty sporting flaming red locks was well-known for her passionate and fiery roles in several American films. Her natural beauty and glamorous appearance was highly praised and she was referred to as the "Queen of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her screen appearances were a reflection of her strong, brave spirit. She was determined to be recognized and survival in an era of male dominance. She was known as "the tough Irish lass" and she would not be willing to sacrifice admiration for other people to secure the roles that she was entitled to due to merit. She was a strong advocate for women in television and film, and gained numerous followers as a result. The autobiography she wrote, "Tis herself", published in 2004 gave an open review of her life , including the struggles she faced to climb the ladder to achieve success. She was an adventurous woman who didn't fear doing herself stunts. She was a part of more than 60 films, and was a popular international star. Following her departure from Parra, she remarried again in the year 1968 to Charles F. Blair Jr. who was a former brigadier and chief pilot and a pioneer in transatlantic aviationto mention several accomplishments. Within a couple of years of their union, O'Hara decided to take a break from her career. Blair was tragically killed in an airplane crash in 1978, bringing an end to O'Hara's joy. The same year, she was diagnosed with having uterine cancer and had to undergo an immediate operation. The cancer eventually cleared. Over the next few years, her health deteriorated and she was diagnosed with six heart attacks, short-term memory loss and type 2 diabetes mellitus. O'Hara was 95 years of age, died peacefully in Boise (Idaho) on the 24th of October , 2015.
